I'm not everyone's cup of tea.
“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world...and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.” - Dita Von Teese.
This quote is one that has always stuck with me, but for whatever reason I always thought I could fight it.
But friends, It doesn’t matter if you are honest, kind, well mannered, polite, caring, trustworthy, fun, or even the happiest person in the world....there is still going to be someone who doesn’t like you.
End of story.
You can go out of your way to try win them over, but the honest truth is....they’re probably going to be nice to your face, and talk the biggest shit about you behind your back....
So I ask you this...is it worth it? Is it worth the time and energy you’re putting into it?
My guess...Probably not.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, or what you look like. This happens to EVERYONE.
So often I get into conversations with my clients, and they say to me, “How can anyone not like you?!”
“I’m not everyone’s cup of tea.”
It took me FAR too long to realize this...but now that I have, I try and let it roll off my sleeve.
There are day’s where it’s harder than others. But the less time you dwell on it...the easier it is to move past it. We can rack our brains for hours, days, weeks, months, and even YEARS, wondering just WHY this specific person doesn’t like us....But in reality....they may not even know themselves.
Maybe it’s jealousy. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re not on the same path as you. Maybe they have different beliefs. Different goals. Maybe they don’t set goals and they think you’re crazy for yours. Make they’re just not happy with their own life! But whatever it is....it’s not your problem.
Did you hear that?
IT’S NOT YOUR PROBLEM.
Do not let the negative thoughts, and actions of others dim your light. Don’t let it hold you back from what you love, what you enjoy doing, or who you are as a person.
