Being comfortable on the outside...starts on the inside.
Being comfortable in your own skin takes work. And...I’m not just talking about the outside.
A large majority starts on the inside.
I wouldn’t be where I am mentally, if I didn’t take the time to sit down and learn about myself.
Something I do in my spare time? I listen to self love podcasts, and I read personal development books. But it takes more than just the action of doing both. It means actively implementing what you’ve learned into your daily life.
I have met so many people who say they are trying to work on them self. And they’re reading blah blah blah, and listen to so and so....But..they’re not following anything they’ve learned! Then they sit there and wonder why their life is STILL the way it is!
If you want the change. It’s honestly the simplest thing when you think about it...You have to put in the work. It’s exactly the same when it comes to our outer appearance. You know easy fixes don’t work. You know that the hard work is what pays off.
It’s the changes we make daily that get us where we desperately want to be.
Change isn’t easy. I’ll be the first to admit that! But when we give into it. When we trust the process. When we may be scared shitless. But we do it anyway! That’s where change happens. In the hard work. In the unknown.
And that’s where you’ll find yourself. That’s where you’ll find the pieces that make you, you.
That’s where you’ll start to build your confidence.
I have to say, working on yourself can be one of the most challenging things to do in life. But, it’s also one of the most rewarding. When you see things changing. When you’re starting to get the good back that you’re putting out into the world? It makes you see that all things are possible.
Finding Danielle White. The creator of NBR, was one of the best things that could have EVER happened to me. Not only did she create a Hair extension method that she shared with our entire industry. With a team of some of the most talented and uplifting humans I have ever met, she turned her platform into a self love, self empowerment class, to help propel us forward. To build our dream life from the bottom up.
When I headed to California in May, it was more than just Hair. It was finding myself, and finding a tribe of women (and a few men), who are some of the most SUPPORTIVE people I have ever met.
Not only did getting my first set of NBR extensions help fuel my confidence on the outside...it started this domino effect on the inside. It started this fire that I’ve never felt before. This urge to just GO FOR IT. To start working on my BIG dreams. To give myself permission to feel the way I do, and to have the dreams I have, and do what I have to do to make them happen!
Does my NBR give me confidence? Abso-fucking-lutely! But if you haven’t figured it out by this read, then let me tell you again. It takes just as much work to work on the inside as it does on the outside!
As Nikki Bella says, “You don’t need to be broken to be fixed..”
